Beginner Guide to Dianabol Side Effects
Easy there tiger!
Before you pop those DBol tabs its vitally important that you fully understand the Dianabol side effects and how to protect yourself.
Dianabol is one of the most popular anabolic androgenic steroids and for good reason. The rapid gains in strength and mass are unequaled with any other steroid.
Most performance enhancing drugs have a specific number of side effects unique to them. However, the side effects of Dianabol are far ranging compared to any other compound.
In this article we discuss the most common and dangerous side effects of using Methandrostenolone.
BTW, even if you're healthy get your blood checked out by a doctor. If you already have a medical condition avoid taking anabolic steroids.
I cannot emphasize enough the importance of being 100% healthy before taking steroids.
Common Mistakes When Using Dianabol
Users that experience the worst Dbol side effects have little to no understanding of the drug and its potential risks to the body.
For these reasons, they make stupid mistakes. Here's a a list of the most common:
- Over dosing because they think more equals greater gains
- Running a cycle for too long
- No on cycle support
- Not running a post cycle therapy
- Eating a crap diet
Estrogen Related Side Effects
Ironically, Dianabol was originally designed to avoid many of the estrogenic side effects of its predecessor, testosterone.
In fact, It's chemical structure is very similar to testosterone, but an extra carbon was added to reduce the compounds aromatising effects.
Even with the added carbon, Dbol is still a highly aromatising steroid because it interacts with the aromatase enzyme responsible for converting androgens into estrogen.
As it turns out, most of DBol's side effects are estrogen related and the most common are:
Gynecomastia - Male Breast Enlargement
Gynecomastia, better known as Gyno, is without question one of the most common side effects associated with dianabol usage.
Gynecomastia is basically an enlargement of the breasts in men, often causing them to appear puffy and flabby, particularly around the nipples.
"Male boobs are more embarrassing than life threatening, especially when taking your shirt off during the summer."
Gyno in men is the result of a hormone imbalance. When estrogen, the dominant female hormone is elevated, men can develop feminine physical characteristics.
The increase in estrogen is due to the hormone actually aromatizing, which means it converts into estrogen.
However, not everyone will experience the same Dbol steroid side effects or to the same degree. If your prone to gyno, D-Bol can significantly increase your risk of developing it, especially in high doses of 30 mgs or more.
In addition, cycling D-Bol with testosterone - another estrogenic compound - increases the risk further.
The second most common estrogenic side effect of Dbol is excessive water retention. The excess water results in a puffy bloated appearance.
In particular, the face and neck can look swollen and this is often referred to as having a 'moon face'.
Excess water retention can elevate blood pressure levels. High blood pressure can be highly dangerous due to the stress it puts on the heart and the major organs. Those with a history of high blood pressure should avoid D Bol.
Its worth bearing in mind that a high percentage of Dbol gains will be the result of water retention and these gains will disappear once you come off DBol.
Dianabol's Androgenic Side Effects
Although highly anabolic and mildly androgenic, Dianabol is not immune to causing androgenic side effects.
During and post cycle its not uncommon to experience oily skin and acne as the steroid can trigger increases of sebum in the sebaceous glands.
If you're genetically prone to hair loss, Dianabol is likely to increase the risk.
This is due to D-Bol increasing the production of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) a hormone that shrinks hair follicles predisposed to male pattern baldness.
If hair loss runs in the family you need to think carefully about what is more important - bigger muscles or a full head of hair.
There are ways of minimizing the risk, for example N2, Groganics , Lipogaine and RegenePure are DHT blocking shampoos you can use. Also, 5-Alpha Reductase inhibitor drugs such as Proscar or Finasteride can help protect your hair line.
Dianabol is classed as a C17-Alpha Alkylated oral anabolic steroid which means it can be processed through the liver without being destroyed. However, the process puts enormous strain on the liver.
Long term use and heavy dosage levels make the compound very hepatotoxic. For this reason, Dbol should only be used for very short cycles with low doses.
Additionally, long term abuse can cause painful back pumps. This may indicate renal problems, especially with the kidneys and blood circulation.
When cycling with D Bol use a liver support supplement preferably one that contains N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC) - a powerful antioxidant that protects and detoxifies the liver.
In addition, NAC is used by the body to produce cysteine and glutathione powerful anti-oxidants that strengthen the immune system and destroy free radical cells. (Osta-Red PCT)
High Cholesterol Level
Compared to injectable steroids, oral pills have a greater impact on the cardiovascular system. An important role of the liver is processing and producing cholesterol, however; oral steroids hamper this function with the stress they put on the liver.
The long-term use and high dosage levels of Danabol can increase LDL the bad form of cholesterol and lower HDL the good form of cholesterol.
High LDL levels increase the risk of hypertension, heart disease, heart attacks, and stroke. For this reason, avoid foods high in saturated fats when running a Dbol cycle.
Again, have your blood checked. If your LDL counts are already high, don't take D-Bol.
A common Dianabol side effect associated with this anabolic compound is hypertension or high blood pressure. Hypertension is a serious condition and needs constant monitoring.
If you suffer from high blood pressure, have kidney or heart-related conditions running in the family, avoid D-Bol as it can be potentially fatal.
How To Combat And Protect Yourself During A Dianabol Cycle
As with most performance enhancing drugs, using Dianabol as instructed, while taking the necessary protective measures during and after a bulking cycle, will help minimize the side effects. The key to this, is planning ahead.
Here are a few tips to keep you healthy as possible:
Aromatase inhibitors (AI's) are an effective protective measure against Dianabol's estrogen related side effects because they're designed to counteract elevated estrogen levels in the body.
These inhibitors help limit the effects gynecomastia, water retention and the suppression of testosterone. Aromasin is the inhibitor of choice for many Dianabol users, while Arimidex and Letrozole are other firm favorites.
Live a healthy lifestyle
The quality of nutrition has a direct influence on the quality of your gains. Eat crap, and you will look like a fat pig at the end of a Dianabol cycle. When using steroids, especially oral compounds eat a clean, healthy diet low in saturated fats, sugar, and salt. Drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol. Do plenty of cardio to maintain healthy cholesterol levels.
Increase omega 3 fatty acid consumption
Because elevated LDL (BAD) cholesterol is a common side effect of D-bol, many users increase their intake omega 3 fatty acids to help reduce LDL and increase HDL (GOOD) cholesterol simultaneously.
Dianabol Post Cycle Treatment
No matter what the risks are, people will continue to use Dianabol for gaining size and strength. However, to stay as healthy as possible consider these tips:
- Always begin with a low dosage
- Begin with 20mg per day for 1 - 2 weeks
- Increase the dosage to 30mg for the next 1 - 2 weeks
- Increase the dosage to 40mg for the final 2 weeks
- Always cycle the drug for 4 – 6 weeks
- Ensure you stack it with a testosterone ester such as testosterone enanthate
- Always finish with a course of PCT
- Alternatively, use safe legal Dianabol alternatives instead
Remember, we're all biologically different. Just because one guy doesn't experience severe side effects doesn't mean you won't. Always begin slowly with a minimum dosage and monitor your tolerance levels. If there are no issues, only then do you increase the dosage.
